Hello dear Potterheads! Have you guys done any magic today? So, all of you who followed Harry Potter’s series must have known who is the author right? Unlikely those who didn’t follow these series do not know at all about her. HER? Yes, it’s a woman! Although, I still can bet that those who do follow these series mustn’t have known the real story of JK Rowling.

Harry Potter’s movies were, are and will always be all time favorite movies for all ages from children, teenagers and adults which, these stories intrigued people and made people believed that the wizarding world do exist. In order to give the appreciation to this amazing author, A Commotion Pictures decided to produce a movie about the real life story about JK Rowling.

The JK Rowling Story

Basically, this movie is an unauthorized biography of Joanne Rowling since she was a child until she succeed in making the Harry Potter’s movies became a box-office movie. Rowling was a bright child, she actually loves to imagine to be a witch while playing with her friends. Although she achieved a flying colour in her result, she loves to write and wanted to pursue her studies in writing, which is totally differ with her parents want her to. 

One day when Rowling was on a train, she suddenly dreamt about a boy named Harry Potter, and started to write a story about him. In her way of creating the stories, a lot of things happened to her such as her mother died and she also breaks up with her husband because of his abusivement. She decided to publish her first book which was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, but got rejected by lots of publishing company. In the end, Scholastic Publishing Company decided to publish her first book because they found it interesting and can suit readers of any age.

However, this ‘real life story’ movie became an issue because this movie makes it more dramatic unlike the real life of the author itself. The fans of Harry Potter wanted to know how in this world could Rowling made such a great story like that, but this movie just shows the life of JK Rowling and how she coped it but it has been a little mix up stories just to make the movie looks good. The British author is notorious for keeping her life as private as possible, so it may be that those details are hard to come by, but regardless, the lack of inclusion of the world of Harry Potter in Rowling’s own world is bound to disappoint (Orton, 2011). But still, this movie got a big hit from the Potterheads.

As for me, I do like this movie because it do show some of the real life of JK Rowling that I have ever imagined it on what the obstacles in her life that she must cope to overcome it, how enthusiastic of Rowling to create those movies which she started her imagination to be a witch since she was a child. So, this movie is good to show how great Rowling is in putting magic in her writing.
